The JD Walsh Basketball School (JDWBBS) is a global roving state of the art basketball training regimen that provides elite basketball skill coaching training globally. JDWBBS was founded in 1998 with the simple intent to teach local kids in the New York City metro area the fundamentals of the sport of basketball and the values that can be derived from involvement.
The JD Walsh – JASE BasketballCamp was very successful with the students participating wholeheartedly in the camp. The camp was inaugurated on 03 December 2007 by Sri. K Govindraju, Vice President of Basketball Federation of India.
The camp started on 03Dec 2007 at 03pm with a brief introduction given by J D Walsh, Director of the JD Basketball School. The training sessions were held for two and half hours in the morning & evening. The warming up and skill training sessions were very innovative with game specific exercises along with music during the entire camp. Listening to music while training was a novel concept introduced by the JD Walsh Basketball School for our students. Goal Setting, Leadership, Team Building along with basketball technical skills was part of the concepts introduced by JD Walsh.
The camp generated lot of interest and enthusiasm and the feedback from trainees was excellent. The campers had a great time and they interacted with the coaches wholeheartedly to learn the latest techniques. Mr. J D Walsh was impressed with the camper’s exemplary behavior and positive attitude. The practice sessions were intense, variations in drills for the same techniques were good and the same were implemented in the match. The different teaching aids employed by the coaches increased the interest and motivated the students to excel in performing the skills.
This is one of the new initiatives taken up by Jain Academy for Sporting Excellence & camps of similar nature will be held to encourage and motivate the students to be more competitive and perform at the highest level.
